Adeline

A close-cropped frontal portrait. The face fills the frame, lit warm against dark hair worked in loose grey-black strokes. The two eyes differ — one blue and clear, the other pale and clouded. Skin runs from warm ochre into cooler shadow. I built the flesh in soft blends and kept the hair rough and gestural by contrast. The eyes are the focus, so I held the detail there and let everything around them stay broad and direct.
