Pear Study

A single pear stands against a black ground, lit from the left. The skin runs from yellow through orange to deep red, with one green leaf still attached at the stem. A band of cool blue-green marks the surface it sits on. I built the fruit in thin layers, working light over dark to get the volume and the blush on the skin. The background is kept flat and unlit so the form holds the eye. The leaf and the stem give it a bit of life.
