Charged

A bull elephant walks forward, head-on, ears spread wide and tusks catching the light. The palette is warm: browns, ochres and dusty reds, with a pale, loosely brushed background that drops away to nothing at the edges. I kept the focus on the head and trunk, working those in detail, and let the legs and ground break up into looser marks. The contrast holds the animal at the centre and pushes the surroundings back.
