Maybelline

A woman turned over her bare shoulder, dark hair loose, one hand raised to her chin. She wears a rust-red wrap. The face is worked smooth and the background kept dark and plain, so the figure carries the picture. Light falls on the shoulder, arm and hand. I built the skin in thin layers and saved the thickest, brightest paint for the knuckles and fingers. The drapery is handled loosely against the tighter work on the head.
