Rachael

A woman's head and shoulders, turned to look off to the side. Dark hair, strong brows, red lips. The face is built up smoothly, with soft transitions across the cheek and jaw. Behind her, a scraped red field on the left and deep shadow on the right. The collar is worked wet and loose, with pink, yellow and blue strokes left visible. I kept the skin tight against that looser handling, and let the red background stay raw and dragged.
