Medevil Slumber

A young woman's head and shoulders, set against a flat grey ground. She wears a pale wrapped cloth over her hair. The face is the only fully resolved area; the wrap, neck and shoulders fall away into loose marks and bare canvas. I built the features up to a finish and left the rest open on purpose. The skin is worked smoothly, with cooler half-tones around the temple and jaw. The brown underdrawing stays visible below the chin.
